Frequently Asked Questions

Cannabis and CBD

Cannabis Sativa has two species. One of these is marijuana, which has concentration levels high levels of THC. THC is what allows you to obtain what some may call a “high,” which gives you the psychoactive stimulative effects–or what others may call a “mind altering” side effect.

CBD is a cannabinoid, one of the many compounds derived from the hemp plant. It has qualities that do not allow you to obtain the psychoactive high (“mind altering”,  and “becoming high” side effects). Instead, CBD allows you to benefit from some of  its healing properties including help with  anxiety, chronic pain, depression, insomnia, neuropathic pain, and many other conditions.

Hemp is a derivative from the cannabis sativa plant which is home to over 113 endocannabinoids. The difference is hemp does not contain the high concentration levels of THC which allows you to have the other psychoactive high. Rather, you benefit from the other effects. In order for the cannabis plant to be considered hemp, it has to have less than 0.3% THC trace amount.

There are many reasons why some may decide to choose CBD to assist with chronic ongoing ailments, whether it is deciding a more holistic approach in finding relief for anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia, depression, skin conditions, muscle fatigue and much more. We at EST IV Hydration & Wellness are more than happy to assist you with any further questions you may have when choosing this product for your health needs with our certified family nurse practitioner and owner in our medical spa location in Scottsdale, Arizona.

BOTOX ®

BOTOX ® is a prescription medication that is administered into the muscles and or problematic area to help improve wrinkles and fine lines. Botox ® has multiple uses and is considered a safe product to use. The active ingredient is Clostridium Botulinum, or Botulinum toxin A derived in pure form which is safe to administer in its proper preparation dosage form. Botox ® is the first and only FDA approved treatment to help with moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles in adults.

BOTOX ® Many factors contribute to the changes in the texture and elasticity of our skin, some variants include collagen reduction in correlation to the aging process. Others may include loss of skin elasticity, subcutaneous fat, gravitational changes and or environmental changes. Repetitive muscle contractions related to frowning, squinting, and or raising eyebrows over a period of time cause changes in the integrity of the skin leading to folding, wrinkles, and fine lines. Botox® in its small, yet diluted form works beneath the surface of the skin. By inhibiting the signals from the nerves to the muscle, Botox® causes a temporary relaxation of the targeted muscles leading to a more softer and smoother complexion.

With Botox ® there is no downtime, results may begin to appear within 24-48 hours up to 14 days and results may last up to 3- 4 months varying upon treatment.
